“Unknown error” when activating eSIM

If you are getting an “Unknown error” when installing your eSIM, the most common cause is that your device is not currently connected to the internet. A strong Wi-Fi or cellular data connection is required to activate an eSIM. Please check your internet connection and try again.

If you have tried the above step and still get the same error, please follow the steps below:

  1. Turn your device off and on again. This simple step can often resolve a variety of software issues.
  2. Check if your device software is up to date. Outdated software can cause compatibility issues and errors. Update your device to the latest software version and try to install the eSIM again.
  3. Check if the eSIM is already installed. It’s possible that your eSIM was installed without displaying a successful activation message. Go to Settings > Cellular and check if the eSIM is listed in the Cellular Plans section.

If you have tried all the above steps and still get an “Unknown error”, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
